About Michael

With a career spanning continents and industries, Michael Pierce has established himself as a seasoned executive and a reputable leader in the sales world.  Michael is at the helm of a high-performing team responsible for driving revenue growth, forging strategic partnerships, and increasing awareness of the Toqio brand.

Michael has helped create upwards of 30 innovative fintech solutions throughout Europe and the USA, focusing on digital transformation, launching new products, and expanding corporate footprints. Michael was a member of the founding commercial team at Mambu, where he played a critical role in the company’s initial commercial expansion. There, he developed key partnerships, created a robust commercial strategy to overcome the regulatory hurdles associated with a fintech platform, and was a key figure in the company’s expansion into the Nordic market.

 

His impressive fintech track record is, firmly rooted in the financial sector, where he served as the Vice President of Financial Solutions at Merrill Lynch and as a Financial Advisor at UBS Financial Services in Boston, USA.

Michael has a deep appreciation for his native city of Boston and his adopted home, Berlin, where he has honed his international business acumen. He is a firm supporter of inclusion in the financial industry and as Toqio's VP of Sales, is proving to be instrumental in fostering growth, success, and market change. In his own words:
I’m naturally curious, especially about people. Although I work in tech, my interests have always been centred around helping people. I pivoted away from traditional banking to drive better and more inclusive financial services. Luckily, I just happened to be at a point in history where technology and finance innovation began to intersect, allowing me to follow my preferred path and dedicate nearly a decade of my life doing my part to help create a better financial reality for everyone. I can proudly say that I have begun to see the major bank make decisions based on responsibility rather than profit, the startup launch products to address an underserved segment of the market, and the corporation modify its behaviour to carry loyal customers through economically difficult times.
